Treatment 3 -- Done
I love finding a card in the mail or a cute emoji or meme in a text or email. Thank you. I have saved them all and look back on them in moments of overwhelm or sadness. If I have not thanked you personally, know from my heart that I am.
Sitting in the backyard drinking my tea, listening to birds, looking at our big pumpkin helps me to feel present and grounded. I love the cooler weather especially since my body temperature fluctuates a lot.
I had an echo cardiogram before my treatment to check on my heart, and my blood flow has increased since starting treatment. My cholesterol has also dropped 70 points.
My 3rd treatment went well and was somewhat faster than the last 2. Only one more treatment with these magic potions.
My friend Marga assisted me and took me around to stores I never get to on my own. She also brought me this magical oil from the Earth's Cauldron on Etsy. While it's good for my body, it feels like it works on a soul level.
It's really good for my spirit to spend time with those I love.
I was a little queasy this time and found myself eating a lot more smaller meals after this treatment-consuming double what I usually eat. This was new and I hope it doesn't continue.
Luckily I have established routines, so this diagnosis and it's probable side effects had me preparing for things like mouth sores, nausea, fatigue, dry skin, brittle nails, etc.
As I've talked about, I have tried not to over-plan or schedule. On days I teach, that is all I plan especially during week 1 after treatment.
My side effects this time were spaciness, queasiness and fatigue. It's now 7 days after treatment and I feel pretty good. I still have to watch how I use my energy.
For those of you who like specific prayers here is a prayer for people dealing with cancer from a dear friend:
Prayer to St. Peregrine:
O God, who gave to St. Peregrine an angel for his companion, the Mother of God for his Teacher and Jesus for the Physician of his malady; grant, we beseech Thee, through his merits, that we may on earth intensely love our holy angel, the Blessed Virgin, and our Saviour, and in heaven bless them forever. Grant that we receive the favor for which we now petition. Through the same Christ our Lord. Amen. HERE IS WHERE I SAY YOUR NAME AND ASK FOR HEALING.
Say one Our Father, Hail Mary, Glory be to the Father, with the invocation: St. Peregrine, pray for us.
St. Peregerine (rhymes with ter’rapin) was converted by St. Philip, O.S.M. He entered the Order of Servants of Mary in 1283. Thus began 62 years of unbelievable penance as Peregrine made reparation for the sins of his youth. His feast day is on May 1st. St. Peregrine is universally invoked as Patron of cancer victims because a cancerous growth on his own leg was miraculously cured.
